These paintings created a dialogue with the idea of numbers being a creation of male thought juxtaposing with highly romantic images. A deliberate contradiction between the calculating numbers and extremely archetypal images of perhaps abandonment or passion. They were painted during the time of ‘Brit Art’ and particularly Damian Hirst.

Much of my work is concerned with the need to find a female specific jouissance, independent from the male norm which pervades western art and philosophy. I feel the need to step away from the linear developments of male thought, along whose lines I find many women follow, the result is the type of art which present women as fucked up objects of the male world, women as victims, who pander to the expected realms of womanhood. Instead, I would like to offer a more positive version.
